Lori Mazza, O.D.
Dr. Mazza graduated valedictorian from Nova Southeastern University in 1995. Her education included a 4 month rotation at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL where she was trained under some of the top ophthalmologists in the country. She then completed a one year residency in ocular disease at Aran and Holbrook Eye Associates, in Miami, FL. Her special clinic interests include ocular disease and specialty contact lenses, including sclerals, hybrids, and lenses for Myopia Control in children. Dr. Mazza opened her own practice in 2014 in Wellington, Fl. She is an active member of the Palm Beach County Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
Kara Hayes, O.D.
Dr. Hayes graduated from Nova Southeastern University with Honors for outstanding leadership and service. She was born and raised in Wellington, Fl and joined our practice in 2018. She is on the Health and Wellness Committee of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce and is a very active member of the Florida Optometric Association. She was awarded Young Optometrist of the Year by the FOA in 2022. Dr. Hayes also sits on the Board for the Palm Beach County Optometric Association, currently as Vice-President. She is passionate about Pediatric Eye Care and Myopia Control treatment options for children. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her husband, do Pilates, read, watch movies, and hang out by the pool.
Melissa – Insurance Verification Specialist
Melissa has been with our team since 2004. Currently, she is our insurance verification specialist. Melissa works hard to obtain accurate information from your insurance company about your benefits. Among her many talents Melissa enjoys making handmade crafts such as little girls hair bows, headbands, and custom t-shirts. Like a true Disney fan, Melissa loves spending time at the happiest place on earth with her husband and 4 beautiful daughters.
Greg – Licensed Optician, A.B.O / N.C.L.E
Greg is originally from Brooklyn, NY, and has lived in West Palm Beach since the early 70’s. He has been practicing as a Florida licensed optician in Palm Beach County for the past 30 years. He has an A.S. degree in Vision Care Technology. Greg is board certified by the American Board of Opticianary and the National Contact Lens Examiners. He has been a member of our team since the fall of 2014. Greg being of Italian descent enjoys good food and good wine. He also enjoys boating, hunting, and biking.
Dreilys – Licensed Optician, A.B.O/ N.C.L.E
Dreilys joined our team in January of 2018. She graduated from the Optionary Program at Miami Dade Medical Campus in 2009. Dreilys is very knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of the Optical field. She has a contagious bubbly personality and always likes to stay busy helping all our patients. She enjoys spending her leisure time with friends and family, shopping, and going to the beach.
Meagan – Optometric Technician
Meagan joined our team in January 2017. She has a sweet and quirky personality that we all love! Meagan is an Optometric Tech always willing to help patients in any kind of way she can and plans to become a Certified Technician in the near future. Meagan has a passion for everything in the arts from music to even photography. Most recently, she has volunteered in Disaster Relief programs that have helped those affected in the Caribbean by the devastating hurricanes since 2016. We are so happy to have Meagan as a member of our team!
Janelly – Optometric Technician
Meet our team member Janelly as of August of 2019! She has been working as one of our very own technicians and is entering the world of glasses. Janelly has her Associates degree in education and hopes to be getting her CPO certification for Paraoptometric tech. She has a love for animals especially cats and dogs, always volunteering at the Peggy Adams shelter in her free time. Janelly always making your experience with FVC a fun one!
Christie – Optometric Technician
Christie has been with Family Vision Center since August 2019. She works as an Optometric Technician helping to complete the necessary pre-testing for our patients. Christie graduated in 2019 from USF with a Bachelor’s in Science. She loves working in healthcare (worked as a CNA for 2 years) and recently volunteered at Florida Hospital-Advent health. She has a passion for the arts such as painting and photography and spending time with her family. Christie even speaks fluent Creole and some French helping a multitude of our patients.
Joseph – Optometric Technician
Joseph has been a part of the family since July of 2020. He does his best to give all patients he meets a welcoming and pleasant experience. He is currently studying Biological Sciences and plans on a career in the medical field as either an Ophthalmologist or Orthodontist. He is not only studying Biology, as he also enjoys learning how to play the guitar.
Danielle
Danielle started working at Family Vision Center in 2022 at our front desk and as an Optical Associate. She recently graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.A. in Visual Art Management and has a passion for the arts, including museum practices, digital art, ceramics, and technical drawing. Danielle spends her free time testing different art techniques and hopes to go back to school to earn her Master’s in Art History!
Rory
Rory started at Family Vision Center in January 2022 as an Optometric Technician and has loved learning everything that goes along with that. They attended Boston University and have a BA from the School of Theater in Costume Production. On the weekends, you can find Rory at Barnes & Noble recommending their favorite books to people. Fun fact: they actually own almost 1000 books. In their free time besides reading they can be found sewing, embroidering & designing.
Hailey
Hailey joined the team in May 2021 as a technician and later progressed to our receptionist. She is starting school to be a licensed esthetician and cosmetologist. Hailey hopes to become fluent in American Sign Language and Italian! She enjoys shopping, traveling, and listening to all kinds of music.
