Lori Mazza, O.D.
Dr. Mazza graduated valedictorian from Nova Southeastern University in 1995. Her education included a 4 month rotation at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL where she was trained under some of the top ophthalmologists in the country. She then completed a one year residency in ocular disease at Aran and Holbrook Eye Associates, in Miami, FL. She is an active member of the Palm Beach County Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. Dr.Mazza reached one of her many goals this year, opening her own practice in a stand alone building in Wellington, FL on October 2014.
Stephen Franzblau, O.D., F.C.O.V.D.
Dr. Franzblau graduated from Southern College of Optometry in 1966 and is a member of the American Optometric Association, a past president of the Palm Beach County Optometric Society, a clinical associate and staff lecturer for the Optometric Extension Program. He is also a Fellow in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development ( FCOVD). This means he has had education over and above the standard O.D degree. He has passed rigorous and comprehensive written and oral exams and is now Board Ceritified in Vision Development & Vision Therapy. He is also a member of the Sports Vision Section and Contact Lens Section of the A.O.A. and serves as a visual consultant to education. Dr. Franzblau is the author of many articles on children’s vision, amblyopia (lazy eye) and strabismus (crossed eye). He has lectured throughout the United States on these subjects and the numerous instruments he has designed which are used in the diagnosis and treatment of special visual problems. In 1973, Dr. Franzblau was awarded the American Optometric Foundation Award for the best lecture and scientific paper presented at the Southeastern Educational Congress.
Kim Reynolds – Vision Therapist
Kim Reynolds became the first certified optometric vision therapist in the state of Florida in 1979. Over the years she has helped children and adults with learning problems related to vision, amblyopia, strabismus and even sports vision enhancement. She lives with her husband and enjoys being involved at her daughter’s dance studio, cooking, reading, and especially playing with her grandson.
Camille Bucchere – Accounts Manager
Camille has been working in the medical field for twenty years. She joined Family Vision Center as a Billing Coordinator in 2002, six months after moving to Florida from New York. She enjoys movies, the theater and taking cruises with her husband, Robert. When at home, she likes to entertain friends and spend time with Robert and their two dogs, Lilith and Daphne.
Melissa Wong – Insurance Verification Specialist
Melissa has been with our team since 2004. Currently, she is our insurance verification specialist. Melissa works hard to obtain accurate information from your insurance company about your benefits. Among her many talents Melissa enjoys making handmade crafts such as little girls hair bows, headbands, and custom t-shirts. Like a true Disney fan, Melissa loves spending time at the happiest place on earth with her husband and 4 beautiful daughters.
Greg Alessi – Licensed Optician , A.B.O / N.C.L.E
Greg is originally from Brooklyn, NY and has lived in West Palm Beach since the early 70’s. He has been practicing as a Florida licensed optician in Palm Beach County for the past 30 years. He has a A.S. degree in Vision Care Technology. Greg is board certified by the American Board of Opticianary and the National Contact Lens Examiners. He has been a member of our team since the fall of 2014. Greg being of Italian decent enjoys good food and good wine. He also enjoys boating, hunting, and biking.
Dreilys Perez – Licensed Optician, A.B.O/ N.C.L.E
Dreilys joined our team January of 2018. She graduated from the Optionary Program at Miami Dade Medical Campus in 2009. Dreilys is very knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of the Optical field. She has a contagious bubbly personality and always likes to stay busy helping all our patients. She enjoys spending her leisure time with friends and family , shopping and going to the beach.
Stephanie Pena – Optometric Technician
Stephanie is originally from Connecticut and moved to South Florida June of 2016. Although she misses her family and her moms cooking, she is loving life here in Florida and is very excited to see what the future holds. Stephanie is currently working on her Bachelors degree in Social Work. As a Optometric Technician, Stephanie prepares patients before seeing the doctor by gathering information and taking images of their eyes. Outside of work, Stephanie attends and volunteers at Christ Fellowship Church and she’s also a big fan of Grey’s Anatomy!
Meagan Cardona – Optometric Technician
Meagan joined our team January 2017. She has a sweet and quirky personality that we all love! Meagan is an Optometric Technician and plans to become a Certified Technician in the near future. She has a passion for the arts and dreams of someday attending the Art Institute. She also loves photography and music! Most recently, she has volunteered in disaster relief programs that helped those affected in the Caribbean by the devastating hurricanes Irma and Maria. We are so happy to have Meagan as a member of our team!
Ivette Muro – Frame Stylist
Ivette joined Family Vision Center February of 2016. She has been in the eye care field since 2008. She started as a Optometric technician and then learned billing, frame selection and adjusting. We are proud to have her as our frame stylist. She is so kind to all our patients and helps everyone select a stylish and beautiful frame that they will love wearing. Ivette graduated in 2013 from FAU with a Bachelor’s in Science. She loves all things music, dancing, and spending time by the sea.
Jennifer Cabrera – Front Desk Coordinator
Say hello to Jen, the friendly face you’ll meet at the Front Desk. She joined our team in October of 2017. Jen will help you with your patient care needs, such as, scheduling appointments and ordering contact lenses. She’s a coffee aficionado and loves music and dance , especially salsa. Someday she hopes to become a sign language interpreter.
